I have had the privilege of testing out Hunch for a few days now and i must say that “Hunch.com” is standing up to some rigorous questions posed so far by myself and other users during this beta testing mode.

Hunch.com is aiming to be a social network/decision making engine that will make life so much easier for us all when it comes to choosing everything from well let Hunch describe themselves;

What should I be for Halloween? Do I need a Porsche? Should I dump that loser? Is Phoenix a good place to retire? Whom should I vote for? What toe ring should I buy?

They go on to say;

In 10 questions or less, Hunch will offer you a great solution to your problem, concern or dilemma, on hundreds of topics. Hunch’s answers are based on the collective knowledge of the entire Hunch community, narrowed down to people like you, or just enough like you that you might be mistaken for each other in a dark room. Hunch is designed so that every time it’s used, it learns something new. That means Hunch’s hunches are always getting better.

So what of the beta testing so far?  Well in a nutshell it`s all the nitty gritty stuff of this link does not work to why is this doing this instead of that and finding out along the way how many banjoes you have earned, ok the bajoes bit is an aside to what is truly an engine that learns as it discovers more about you, in time it will have the ability to know your decision making process and suggest what is best for you.

Deciding what is best for anyone in the first place has to start somewhere doe`s it not? Well yes you are right which is where the interactivity of the engine itself really kicks in, if you feel that you can improve on what the outcome of a question is then you have the ability to “train” that particular question, while your decision alone makes a difference to that one outcome it is truely the collaborative nature of everyone being able to do exactly the same as you, until in the end the best recommended outcome for one type of decision becomes the better decision for YOU, make sense?  I thought not.

In a nutshell, Hunch will in time know you and suggest the decisions you are looking for over time.  What if the question you are looking for is not within the Hunch site?  Well you may have guessed by now, but if you have not here is the cherry on the cake, you get to set the question and possible routes to the answer, even if you can not provide the answer then at least it there for the whole community to contribute to and add more possibilities and results.

For now i will leave it at that, i have only been using the site for 3 days, but i can certainly say with ease i am hooked and i am looking forward to the full launch of the site.

Wait a minute, what has all this got to do with SEO? Well in truth absolutely nothing, but i do like to keep a watchful eye on emerging start ups and if the credentials of one of the co-founders of Hunch is anything to go by i think this site will stand up to scrutiny with a smile on it`s face, oh yeah the co-founder of Hunch was also the co-founder of Flickr.
